Australian Shepherd Advocates (ASA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit nationwide, foster-based dog rescue organization comprised of trainers and advocates of the herding breeds. Our philosophy is to provide a comprehensive holistic environment for our dogs, behavioral assessment, training and the latest veterinary science to provide the best possible outcome for the dog. We have over 41 years experience with the herding breeds specializing in behavior problems, and disabilities including deaf and blind. By teaching American Sign Language to hearing impaired dogs and touch training to vision impaired dogs, these brilliant dogs can respond to the request of their families. Behavior modification training and rehabilitation is used with dogs who may have developed unwanted behavior issues and feral dogs. It is our goal to reintroduce these dogs with the highest level of confidence and behavior to be successful in their new homes. We take great care in matching each dog with a competent and loving home that meets that specific dog's individual needs.
